Mofan Street

The architecture on Mofan Street combines that of the Japanese, Fujian, Western, and Pacific styles. It’s one of Kinmen’s most distinctive old streets. Vendors sell a variety of street foods and delicacies, such as fried turnip cakes, oyster fritters, fried sesame balls, salty cakes, and oyster vermicelli.

Shanhou Folk Culture Village

A village of 18 Fujian-style buildings, which include 16 two inner-layered buildings, 1 three inner-layered buildings, and 1 Wang Clan Ancestral Hall. It is an exemplification of the traditional houses of Kinmen.

Shamei Old Street map

Many traditional delicacies are still sold on Shamei Street, such as Fujian sesame flat bread, Guotian Food Store, salty cakes, and Kinmen Kaoliang liquor eggrolls. This was the principal shooting location for the movie Paradise in Service.

Siwei Tunnel (Also called Jiugong Tunnel) map

Located below Kinmen National Park’s Lieyu management station, the Siwei Tunnel was previous used as a supply tunnel for small ships. The main tunnel runs 790 meters long, whereas auxiliary tunnels are around 200 meters long. The tunnel has an exhibition that simulates conditions during the tunneling process, so that visitors can experience the hardship workers endured at the time.

Hujingtou Battle Museum map

Situated on the northwestern coast of Lieyu, it is one of the strongest locations on the island, rarely suffering any defeats. Exhibits within the museum include information on battles, the battle records of Lieyu’s divisions and brigades, and local heroes.

The interconnected Ironman and Warrior Forts are magnificent and popular local attractions. There are military facilities both above and under ground. Those above ground include casemates, assembly halls, and dormitories; underground facilities include machine gun casemates, tank forts, ammunition depots, dormitories, fire cisterns, and underground trenches and caves. There is also an exhibition on landmines that introduces the different types of mines, the symbols used to indicate landmines in countries around the word, and an interactive display.

Presents Kinmen’s abundant natural resources in creative ways. The first floor has historical monuments and the natural evolution of cultural history on display, whereas B1 is situated within a lake, allowing visitors to view the organisms and vegetation in their natural habitat.

Beishan Mansion map

Situated at a higher strategic position, the house has great views and overlooks the entire village. During the Battle of Guningtou, it was occupied by the communist troops and became a command post. After going through a series of fierce shootouts and bombings, it is unquestionably proof of Kinmen’s past as a battle frontier.

Cheng Jing-Lan’s

The year “1921” is carved into the mountainside to honor when Chen Jing-Lan built this house. The elegant building features arched verandas that face the sea, full of antique flavor.

Chenggong Tunnel map

A 620-meter long tunnel built out of granite and concrete. Outside the tunnel is the famous Chenggong Beach, where the annual clam festivals are held.
