Tai Lake

Taihu is an artificial lake providing water for irrigation and other civil uses. Although highly functional, it has a special feel to it, with its natural shoreline and small island. The small island with its pavilion is a nice "get-away-from-it-all" spot.

Fr. Bernard M. Druetto Memorial Park

Public medical facilities in Kinmen weren't well developed at the time, and here at this site, in a Catholic church, he treated patients wounded from the shelling, saving lives. After Father Druetto died, the church wasn't maintained and became dilapidated. To commemorate the French priest's contribution to Kinmen, this park was created.

Jinhu Old Street

You can admire the lovely painted murals here, and people come here to take a walk and admire the streets full of art.

Xinhu Harbor

Xinhu Harbor , one of Kinmen's three major harbors, is the main fishing area close to Shanwai town. It's become a "must-see" place in Kinmen with the tetrapods trending on Instagram. Other good photo spots are the white sand beach, observation pavilion and narrow gauge rail track at the nearby ship repair factory.

Nanshihu Park

Nanshihu directly translates as South Rock Lake. The rocks here aren't just any old rocks—they're granite of such high quality that they were used in the building of Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taipei and Taoyuan International Airport.
