Xinhu Harbor
Xinhu Harbor , one of Kinmen's three major harbors, is the main fishing area close to Shanwai town. It's become a "must-see" place in Kinmen with the tetrapods trending on Instagram. Other good photo spots are the white sand beach, observation pavilion and narrow gauge rail track at the nearby ship repair factory.
Jinhu Old Street
You can admire the lovely painted murals here, and people come here to take a walk and admire the streets full of art.
Zhushan Village
There's been a village here for about 650 years. It was first settled by a group of people, all surnamed Hsueh, who migrated from Xiamen. Still today, almost all Zhushan residents are Hsuehs. They still maintain ties with the descendants of the original Hsuehs in Xiamen.
Tai Lake
Taihu is an artificial lake providing water for irrigation and other civil uses. Although highly functional, it has a special feel to it, with its natural shoreline and small island. The small island with its pavilion is a nice "get-away-from-it-all" spot.
Nanshihu Park
Nanshihu directly translates as South Rock Lake. The rocks here aren't just any old rocks—they're granite of such high quality that they were used in the building of Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in Taipei and Taoyuan International Airport.
Fr. Bernard M. Druetto Memorial Park
Public medical facilities in Kinmen weren't well developed at the time, and here at this site, in a Catholic church, he treated patients wounded from the shelling, saving lives. After Father Druetto died, the church wasn't maintained and became dilapidated. To commemorate the French priest's contribution to Kinmen, this park was created.
Deyue Tower
Built in 1933 and was the tallest Western-style building in Shuitou Village at the time. Included an underground tunnel that led to the main house for preventive reasons. It now houses an exhibit on the cultural conflicts that were prevalent in the region at the time.
Kinmen Bridge
Kinmen Bridge, Taiwan's first deep-water cross-sea bridge, connects Kinmen and Lieyu. The Kinmen end is located at Sec. 2 Cihu Road in Jinning Township, while the Lieyu end is located at Hupu Road. The total length of the bridge is about 5.41 km, and the largest span is 200 meters. It is the latest landmark of Kinmen.
Jiangong Islet
"Oystermen" was designed by Finnish architect Marco Casagrande in 2013 as part of a Kinmen County Sculpture Festival. Made of sand-blasted stainless steel, the figures stand 6 meters tall. When the tide is at its highest point, the "Oystermen" appear to be walking on water.
Juguang Tower
One of Kinmen’s important landmarks, situated to the southwest of Jincheng Township, underneath Juguang Lake. It is said to be a symbol of the sturdy and stable battlefield spirit, and definitely a spot you need to visit.
Mofan Street
The architecture on Mofan Street combines that of the Japanese, Fujian, Western, and Pacific styles. It’s one of Kinmen’s most distinctive old streets. Vendors sell a variety of street foods and delicacies, such as fried turnip cakes, oyster fritters, fried sesame balls, salty cakes, and oyster vermicelli.
Qing Dynasty Kinmen Military Headquarters
A rare Taiwanese Fujian military headquarters of high historical value, constructed in the uncommon 4 inner-layer style. It currently houses an exhibition on the history of the Qing Dynasty military.
